About Anna VonDungen
I an 18 year old currently majoring in integrative physiology and studying Spanish at CU Boulder. I am also in the pre-health program, hoping to one day become a vet or surgeon. I graduated from a private school called Dawson in Lafayette in May with a GPA of 3.7 unweighted, 4.2 weighted. I typically end my school day at 3:20 pm, so after school or weekend tutoring is best for me, but I am always happy to accommodate the students' schedule. Because I am currently living on campus, transportation can a be a little bit tricky, so I would prefer to do online sessions over zoom (or a different video method if you prefer). If there is a topic we are covering that I am less familiar with, I will take the time to review the material myself so I can best help with every concept covered in a student's class. My goal as your tutor is to do my best to help the student succeed in school, and help them find ways to improve their learning inside and outside the classroom.

I have experience in AP calculus AB and BC, AP biology, college level biology and chemistry, and all other science, math, and reading/writing courses, high school level and below. My teaching method will include going over homework and classwork problems/assignments and addressing concepts that may be confusing for the student. I will assist them in working through assignments, while also taking time to review concepts that are necessary for completion of the assignments. Additionally, I want the focus to be specifically on understanding the concepts rather than just working through the problems. I believe students can best master topics by first being comfortable with the material, then working through problems. So throughout my lessons we will focus on both learning the concept and working through problems. Once the student feels they can truly comprehend the topic, then we can practice how this topic will be relayed in questions. Additionally, an important part of learning is being able to take useful notes that are helpful for completing homework outside of class. If a student cannot adequately take notes, I would also like to focus on how we can improve this for the best learning experience. Finally, I may also ask students to complete additional reading, practice problems or watch videos to help them if necessary. My goal is for the student is to have the best experience in their courses to make school more enjoyable rather than stressful. I have had experience managing my ADHD, so if that is something the student struggles with, I have methods and tips that can help them stay focused in class and while doing homework. But overall, I will adjust my methods to whatever the student needs to succeed in school.
