About Jack
I have over two years of experience working in education, teaching online, as a TA in a primary school, and in a classroom as a TEFL teacher. I consider myself quite good at explaining complex concepts in a simplified manner that is easily understood.
In terms of Philosophy, I took a short course with the Open University, liked it, and went for a Bachelor’s at the University of Nottingham, achieving a First Class degree. It has given me a broad understanding and an aptitude to independently educate myself on foreign concepts. Likewise, I am able to break down sophisticated arguments to their essential components and apply that to explaining them to friends and family.
I want to do a Master’s in the future and go into education. As such, I think tutoring people would be an excellent step in that direction.

When teaching things like deontology, I find that people usually have issues with the nuances of the argument. I think it’s important to actually hit upon the wider context of such discussions, so I like to explain the history of the debates that led to them, as well as the metaphysics they’re based upon. People, especially younger people, are curious and teachers have to foresee the questions and queries they have, because otherwise, the theories taught can come off as strange and alien. Once understood in its wider context an argument can be easily understood more formally.
