About Esmé

I am Esmé, 25 years old and I have just moved to Liverpool from London for a more fulfilling life! I started learning French in Year 4 and my love for the language and culture only grew from there! I followed my studies through to A-levels where there was a class of six people and I was the only one to take it through to university. My university education broadened my horizons, as I studied complex French literature, history, film and grammar. During 2019/20 I did my Erasmus+ year abroad and stayed living in France as the pandemic ensued. Teaching you French will be a brilliant way for me to draw from my former teachers, good and bad, and create lessons that I only hope will keep you motivated to keep and use this language for life!

About the lesson

50 minute sessions. They will start by exploring a topic, with plenty of cultural content to draw from, introducing vocabulary and context. Lessons will include comprehension exercises followed by a debrief to see where your strengths and weaknesses lie so I can tailor the next session. I am flexible for who picks up on my lessons, I have previously taught groups of French students aged 11-18 in a school setting as well as younger pupils in a private one-to-one tutoring context. I have strong interpersonal and communication skills so I am positive we can find an approach that works for you!

Now after a her first degree with a year out in France she is well versed in supporting tutees from age 9 to 18.
