About Julia

Hi there! My name is Julia and I am a French and Arabic Tutor in Canberra. I am a passionate about learning languages and the wonderful people and cultures that this has brought me closer to. I hope to share this with you!

I lived in France in 2016, and completed HSC advanced French in 2018. I graduated from a bachelor of languages at the Australian National University in 2022.
I recently studied in Egypt in 2023, broadening my skills in standard Arabic and Egyptian Colloquial.

My goal is to build your comprehension and confidence to speak. I will deliver meaningful lessons and share great resources that make learning fun!
I am excited to share my knowledge and love for French or Arabic languages and cultures with you. :)

About the lesson

I will design my approach based on your French level.
I will encourage speaking practice from day 1 of your lessons.

Input (listening + reading) and output (written + spoken) are all integral to a thorough understanding of language. I will take a holistic approach and provide material that develops all these skills.

I will build my students vision of themselves as future proficient French speakers. Students will be encouraged to find an aspect of language or culture that they are interested in. Whether it be music, history, cooking, literature + film.... languages become fun when you find your interest!

Finally, I work collaboratively with my students. I want input from you, so please come to me with recommendations or ideas.

My rate will depend on distance travelled to students home. If students are in western creek or belconnen, rate will be fixed at 40$/h.
