I have worked as a tutor both in the UK and abroad over the last 20 years and have worked in schools in the UK as a Teaching Assistant.

I completed my B.A. (Hons) degree in French and Psychology at Liverpool University.

My current students include: GCSE students (year 10), beginner adult learners

About the lesson

I am an experienced tutor both face to face and online, with over 20 years tutoring experience and I offer friendly, well-structured lessons to students of all ages and all levels. I work with students to prepare them for specific exams, such as GCSE and A Level or for specific goals such as living abroad.

I specialise in KS3 and GCSE tuition and am able to help my students become more focused and motivated in their language studies, to reach their full potential and to achieve the highest possible grades as well as to meet the individual requirements of their specific exam boards.

As well as completing my university degree, I have lived in France and Spain in the past, where I learned to speak the languages fluently. I enjoy working with children of all ages and have 2 older children of my own. As a result, I have been able to establish an excellent rapport with all the children and young adults I teach.

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree from Liverpool University

- How much do you charge?

I charge £25 per hour for KS3, GCSE and for adult learners from beginner level upwards, for A level please enquire.

I currently tutor online by Skype

I work with all my students to improve their fluency and to build their confidence in the subject. I also can help you prepare for specific goals, such as GCSEs and to be more motivated. I have a good working relationship with all my students and aim to make lessons both fun and productive.

Perfect! Philippa is very calming. Made my son feel very confident in his current ability but was very quick to see the gaps in his knowledge that needed her assistance. I'm confident that they will work very well together.

With Philippa's support, in his mocks he was one point off an A, and he achieved an A in his GCSE (which wasn't very far off an A*!) By going back to basics, Philippa really helped my son get back on track and, even better, actually enjoy French for the first time!
