About Sandra
My name is Sandra Timberlake and I am from Geneva, Switzerland. I grew up in Geneva and as soon as I obtained my Master in Economics and Social Sciences, I moved to United Arab Emirates. I have always loved numbers and decided to sit for my CPA certification in California while working for Ernst & Young at the time, before joining some other organizations in finance. While studying at high school and at university, I used to help children who had difficulties on various topics (languages, math, finance etc); I enjoyed helping them and see them progress and gain confidence. Although I have been working all my life and fulfilled high-end positions such as heading the finance department of some big corporate companies, I have always enjoyed keeping a healthy lifestyle and have coached others to attain their goals (I am certified ACE personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist), and I raised two beautiful children. While my son and daughter were studying at a French/Lebanese school in Dubai, I have always made sure their level of French was up to the standards and have spent numerous hours sitting with them and going through books and exercises. Although I don’t have a teacher qualification as such, my experience being a mother, a health coach and working for top-notch companies has given me the skills that are required to make others succeed: good listening skills, communication, motivation, compassion and dedication are what it takes to make it a success. With my personality and experience, I am certain I can help you achieve your goals in French.

Lessons can be given in person or online. I will follow what the student needs to achieve as per the student books, requirements, tasks; my objective is for my student to succeed academically, while enjoying learning a foreign language. I will also bring some additional material to each lesson to make sure it broadens the knowledge of the student. I focus a lot on communicating in the French language to train the ear of my student so that he/she can be ready in a real-life situation. I also like to expose my student to day-to-day life activities such as shopping, driving, or simply enjoying a conversation in a coffee shop. C'est la vie :)
