About Livia

My interest in French and Francophone culture inspired me to pursue a B.A. in French Studies followed by an M.A. in French Linguistics. Over 8 years of teaching, I have supported students at all levels in achieving fluency, cultural competence, and confident self-expression. I focus on creating lessons that balance grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and cultural insight while fostering curiosity, creativity, and independence.

I design lessons that integrate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural context in a structured yet engaging way. Students are encouraged to explore idiomatic expressions, pronunciation nuances, and stylistic writing while gaining confidence in conversation and comprehension. Roleplay, storytelling, and interactive exercises are key components of my approach.

Beyond teaching, I immerse myself in literature, contemporary culture, and Francophone media to enrich my lessons with authentic context and real-world relevance. I take joy in witnessing students progress from hesitant speakers to confident communicators capable of nuanced expression. My mission is to cultivate learners who are fluent, culturally aware, and empowered to use French effectively in any setting.

About the lesson

French lessons flourish when students combine grammar mastery, vocabulary development, reading, writing, speaking, and listening practice in an engaging and immersive approach. I focus on verb conjugation, sentence construction, listening comprehension, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, cultural context, and conversational practice. Lessons create a dynamic, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, experimenting, and gaining confidence in their language abilities.

Beginners learn foundational grammar, essential vocabulary, pronunciation, basic conversation skills, and simple reading comprehension. Intermediate learners refine grammar, sentence complexity, reading fluency, writing structure, speaking confidence, and cultural awareness. Advanced students develop nuanced understanding of idiomatic expressions, stylistic writing, advanced conversation skills, professional communication, and literary interpretation. Lessons incorporate interactive exercises, roleplays, real-life scenarios, and consistent feedback to ensure lasting progress.

Studying French enhances communication, cultural literacy, and analytical thinking while fostering confidence in self-expression. Students develop the ability to navigate social, academic, and professional contexts, enjoy literature, and engage creatively with language.
