About Brielle

I have 11 years of experience teaching French and hold a Doctorate in French Linguistics and Applied Language Education. My expertise includes grammar, pronunciation, conversational skills, writing, reading comprehension, and cultural literacy, enabling a comprehensive approach to language teaching.

I focus on student-centred instruction that integrates structured lessons with interactive, culturally enriched practice. My lessons are designed to enhance communication, expressive fluency, and critical thinking. I foster an encouraging environment where learners feel comfortable experimenting with language, exploring cultural nuances, and gaining confidence in both formal and casual communication.

Outside teaching, I engage in research, cultural exchange programmes, and mentoring students preparing for academic or professional applications of French. I am passionate about helping learners achieve fluency, cultural insight, and communicative confidence. Witnessing students gain mastery, express themselves naturally, and develop a genuine appreciation for French culture is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

About the lesson

French lessons with me focus on fostering fluency, confidence, and cultural competence in learners of all levels. Each student begins with an evaluation of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, speaking ability, reading fluency, and writing proficiency. This assessment allows me to craft individualised lesson plans that address specific needs, leverage strengths, and achieve both short-term and long-term learning goals.

Lessons combine interactive speaking exercises, structured grammar practice, reading comprehension, writing assignments, idiomatic expression, and cultural exploration. I incorporate real-world applications, role-playing, storytelling, and multimedia resources such as videos, songs, and news articles. Lessons emphasise accuracy, natural conversational flow, and expressive confidence while providing contextual knowledge about French culture, history, and contemporary society. Students are encouraged to practise communication actively, think critically, and apply language skills in authentic scenarios.

Advanced learners focus on complex grammatical structures, sophisticated vocabulary, literary analysis, professional writing, public speaking, and debates. Continuous, constructive feedback enhances pronunciation, expression, fluency, and style. My goal is to empower students to communicate confidently in French, understand cultural nuances, and build skills that are useful in academic, professional, and everyday contexts while enjoying the learning journey.
