About Kyra

My passion for French emerged from a deep interest in language, literature, and Francophone cultures. I earned a B.A. in French Language and Cultural Studies, which provided me with a solid foundation in grammar, literature, linguistics, and cultural understanding. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students of various ages and proficiency levels, helping them achieve fluency, accuracy, and cultural insight in their use of French.

I approach teaching with patience, clarity, and adaptability, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and goals. My methodology emphasizes meaningful engagement, interactive practice, and cultural immersion. I focus not only on linguistic proficiency but also on helping learners develop the confidence to express themselves naturally and effectively in both casual and formal situations.

Outside the classroom, I actively engage with French literature, media, and contemporary culture. This allows me to provide fresh examples and real-world relevance in lessons. Teaching French is deeply rewarding because I witness learners gain fluency, cultural understanding, and the self-assurance to communicate confidently in diverse contexts, making language learning both practical and enjoyable.

About the lesson

French lessons are most effective when students are encouraged to use the language actively in meaningful contexts. My approach combines grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and conversational fluency, all within engaging cultural frameworks. Lessons include interactive exercises, storytelling, dialogues, roleplays, and discussions to make learning immersive and enjoyable. I create a supportive environment where learners can experiment with language, ask questions freely, and gradually build confidence. The focus is on understanding how the language functions in real-life scenarios while developing accuracy, fluency, and expressive skills.

Lesson plans are tailored to the student’s level and goals. Beginners focus on foundational vocabulary, basic sentence construction, pronunciation, and essential conversational expressions. Intermediate learners refine grammar, idiomatic usage, and listening comprehension while practicing everyday conversations.
