About Leonard
I'm a high school teacher of French and Latin in the Chicago, IL area. I have a B.A. in Comparative Literature and a Ph.D. in French Language and Literature. I also have a professional teaching license with endorsements in French and Latin. I've been teaching French to children, teenagers, and adults for 30 years. I have also worked and studied in France for a total of 2.5 years.

My preferred method is immersion by using French at least 90 % of the time in my lessons. I provide students with comprehensible input, inductive and deductive grammar, discovery learning, highly structured written practice, free written practice, and oral practice for authentic situations. I teach French to children, teenagers, and adults. I have experience teaching at the high-school level as well as at the university undergraduate and graduate levels.
