About Alexi

My name is Alexi Caron and I am a French Education Student. I speak English, French and Spanish but my strength has always been French. Born to a French family from a small farming community in rural Québec, keeping my French heritage has always been so important to me. One of my favourite books to share with students of all levels is Le Petite Prince and it is always a favourite quick read! I graduated with French honours in 2020 and can't wait to be in the classroom teaching French in the next couple of years.

About the lesson

I tailor my lessons depending on what area is most at need! My focuses include vocabulary, verbs, reading, writing and listening skills. If general improvement in all these categories is what you are looking for I would structure my lessons based of skill level. Beginning first with assessing vocabulary knowledge and working to get that to grade level through conversation, flash cards (depending on the age), reading while identifying words together and short vocabulary games and tests. That will lead us into strengthening reading through short reading comprehensions and book club style sharing between the two of us. Then more specialized verb lessons would follow to really enhance the grasp of the language. Verbs are best learnt through teaching the common rules first, memorizing these and then strategies that help build memorization of irregular verbs. All the while speaking in French, sharing French music and culture to enhance passion for the language and listening skills.
