About Sonja
My native language is German. I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and moved to Canada 12 years ago. I paid my way through university tutoring students in Latin (I graduated from law school but my real passion are languages). I have also been working as a freelance translator but I love teaching, especially seeing the progress my students make!

My approach is “dive right in!” as I believe a language is best learned by being immersed in it. We start by learning conversation basics, introductions, travel basics for getting around (directions, ordering food) and work our way up to more complicated conversation topics. Grammar will be focused on as needed (German grammar can be very intimidating so I find it best to start out speaking right away).
