About Ruth
I’m currently a senior at Emory University, so I know the ins and outs of what it takes to excel in school whether that be middle, high school or college. I have always been able to easily pick up mathematics and used to tutor my younger brothers before I left for college. I have also tutored family friends in algebra. The highest math class I have taken was AP Calculus AB, and while I did not major in mathematics in college, math is something that has clicked easily for me and I would love to be able to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it!

I understand that everyone has different learning abilities and everyone progresses at different rates, therefore I am able to personalize my teaching methods depending on the tutee’s skills. I am a visual and hands on learner when it comes to math, and I like to apply that style of learning when tutoring because I find it easiest to work out a problem set when you are able to see it laid out in front of you. I’m also a big fan of scratch work when working through sets because you are able to see exactly where you made a mistake and you can then fix it.
