About Rachel
I’m a fourth year Dentistry student, with a strong interest in teaching children and teens. Throughout school I’ve always loved and achieved excellent grades in the sciences, maths and English. This, coupled with my strong desire to help and care for others led me to choose a career in Dentistry. I also had private tutors in school, so I’m very personable and relatable when it comes to teaching. I’m very enthusiastic about what I do, and I can’t wait to be given the opportunity to help, guide and support a school student! I give lessons in English Language GCSE, Biology GCSE, Chemistry GCSE and Maths GCSE. I achieved an A in all of them at GCSE level, with an exception of an A* in Biology GCSE.

My approach on methodology depends on the student I am working with and their individual aims and objectives for the tuition. Some of my students just want to prepare for exams, so we do extensive work on past papers, revision and exam technique. Other students may be a little behind in class and need to catch up, so I go back to the fundamentals and ensure we build a firm foundation so the student is able to catch up and gain confidence in their abilities. Some students (and parents) just need a little help with the homework and coursework, and in those cases I can guide the student step by step on what they need to do in order to produce an A-grade submission.
Generally I create personalised teaching plans based on the students first and foremost based on the aims and objectives of the tuition, but additionally on their strengths and weaknesses tailored to the exam specifications or national curriculum to ensure full coverage.
