About John
I am a former UGA student athlete who loves helping the younger generation in any way I can.
I have taught people everything from swimming to math and writing.
I am a leader for my church's high school youth group and I have mentored over 30 people in the past 5 years.
I look forward to helping my students grow not only academically, but also as a person.

I am open to tutoring any age, but I prefer middle or high school students. My main areas of expertise are math and writing.
Similar to how I try to approach most of life, my teaching method centers around seeking to gain a solid understanding of what in particular makes a certain subject hard for the student. I do this by asking insightful questions in a disarming manner.
I consistently aim to use analogies and examples when teaching because I have seen how helpful they can be for my former students.
I also think that helping the student understand why certain subjects and assignments are important helps them study more effectively. In other words, connecting what we're doing with why we're doing it.
