About Mikella
I previously taught 5th grade for seven years in all subject areas and 6th grade math for two years. I have also tutored for the past 7 years in grade levels 2nd - 8th. I have a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and a masters in Educational Leadership.

I teach using a hands on, contextual approach. I understand that all concepts need to first be taught conceptually in order to be mastered. Lessons plans include engagement strategies, inquiry based activities, scaffolded questioning, space for student practice, and formative assessments.
