I played football professionally for years before transitioning into teaching, and that athletic discipline and team mentality still shapes almost everything about how I run a lesson today. Eight years into teaching now, I've worked with approximately one hundred ninety students, many of them fellow athletes or genuinely goal-oriented students who respond well to structure and clear accountability. About the lesson

My years playing professionally taught me that consistent, disciplined practice beats occasional bursts of enthusiasm every single time, and that exact principle shapes how I structure every Spanish lesson. We set clear, specific goals each session, the same way a coach sets targets before a match, giving every lesson genuine purpose and direction rather than vague, unfocused practice. I build in regular review, like reviewing match footage, going back over previous material to reinforce what's actually sticking versus what needs more focused work. Vocabulary training uses repetition drills similar to technical training on the pitch, since I've found genuine mastery comes from consistent, deliberate repetition rather than passive, occasional exposure alone. Speaking practice happens under mild pressure sometimes, simulating real conversation the way match situations simulate real pressure, building genuine composure rather than only comfortable, low-stakes practice. I track measurable progress constantly, the same disciplined mindset I once applied to my own athletic performance and development throughout my career. Mistakes get treated like a missed pass, worth analysing briefly then moving on immediately, never dwelled on unnecessarily or treated as a genuine setback. I push students to show up consistently, even on low-motivation days, since I know firsthand that consistency beats occasional intensity every single time. Every lesson stays focused, disciplined, and genuinely goal-oriented throughout.
