About Driaan

I am a former IEB Economics and Accounting teacher with an Honours degree in Econometrics and extensive practical experience in finance and business.

I taught Economics from Grades 10 to 12 and Accounting from Grades 9 to 11. I have also marked assessments for distance-education students.

My approach is patient, structured and practical. I help learners understand why a concept works before applying it to calculations, case studies and examination questions.

Lessons are available online in English or Afrikaans for high-school learners, first-year students and adults who need help understanding commercial subjects.

About the lesson

Every learner has different strengths, gaps and goals, so I adapt each lesson to the learner’s individual needs.

We begin by identifying the concept, question or section causing difficulty. I explain it using clear language and practical, real-world examples before we work through problems together. The learner then applies the method independently so that I can identify and correct any remaining gaps.

Lessons can focus on understanding key concepts, homework support, test and examination preparation, past-paper practice or improving examination technique. I tutor Accounting, Economics and Business Studies at secondary and matric level, as well as selected introductory tertiary modules.

Learners are encouraged to send the relevant material before each lesson so that our time can be used effectively. Lessons are conducted online and are available in English or Afrikaans.

Details

Lessons are conducted online at R250 per hour. Package rates are R1,150 for five hours and R2,200 for ten hours.

Please send the relevant topic, questions or study material before the lesson so that I can prepare appropriately. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled lesson may be charged at 50% of the lesson fee, except in an emergency.
