About Connie
I would be a great tutor because I love working with students and creating an accessible learning environment in which they feel encouraged to succeed. I can tutor in elementary subjects, and I have more experience specifically in second and third grade subjects. I have worked as a third grade teacher at a private school and provided instruction and developed lesson plans for the following subjects: Spelling, Science, Math, History, English, and Reading, therefore I would feel comfortable teaching any of those subject areas in that grade level. I specialize in division, multiplication, addition, subtraction, some fractions, adding and subtracting common denominator fractions, identifying 2D and 3D shapes, graphing, reading a clock, decimals, and counting money. I can also help tutor in Spanish subjects, as I can read and write in Spanish.
I have worked as an after school program tutor for low income schools in which I provided homework help for elementary students. I have also worked as a bilingual paraeducator in which I provided English to Spanish translation and interpretation services for 3 middle school students whom were English Language Learners. I interpreted tests worksheets, and any other class written material. I would also provide translation services at the same time as the teacher was giving instruction so that the students could follow along and have access to what the teacher was discussing in class. I provided help with homework and how to complete projects, specifically History and Remedial English lesson projects.
