Reading and comprehension: Develop students' reading and writing with comprehension passages to support their acquisition of knowledge. Guides students to read fluently and understand extended prose (both fiction and non-fiction) and be encouraged to read for pleasure
Vocabulary development: Increase students’ store of words in general; simultaneously, helping them make links between known and new vocabulary and discuss the shades of meaning in similar words
Grammatical accuracy: Consolidate and build on their previous knowledge of reading and vocabulary through: extending and applying the grammatical knowledge set out in English curriculum.
Writing and Mechanics: Guides students to write accurately, fluently, effectively and at length for pleasure and information through: writing for a wide range of purposes and audiences.
