About Kenny

I believe Spanish teaching should be personalized, practical, and inspiring. I tailor each lesson to meet students where they are, focusing on clear grammar explanations combined with meaningful conversation practice that builds confidence and fluency. I integrate listening and speaking activities based on real-life situations—ordering food, traveling, or casual chats—to make learning relevant and engaging. Grammar topics like verb tenses, adjective agreement, and pronouns are introduced in manageable segments and reinforced through communicative exercises. I incorporate cultural lessons through music, cuisine, holidays, and current events to deepen students’ understanding and connection to the Spanish-speaking world. Technology is an important part of my teaching toolkit, with apps and online exercises supporting vocabulary retention and pronunciation practice. A memorable success was helping a student transition from classroom study to using Spanish confidently during a trip abroad. Ultimately, I strive to empower students to use Spanish naturally and enjoy the learning journey every step of the way.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy centers on the idea that Spanish should be taught in a way that makes it immediately usable, emotionally engaging, and personally meaningful. I design my lessons around conversation because I believe language is meant to be spoken and shared.

From the start, I create opportunities for students to use Spanish in full sentences, to express their ideas, and to respond to others in natural, real-world contexts. I guide learners gently through mistakes, encouraging them to speak up and take risks without fear of judgment. I introduce grammar through a communicative lens—rather than isolating conjugation tables, I show how verb forms function in context and help students apply them through conversation, writing, and comprehension exercises.

My lessons are also infused with cultural insight, helping students see how Spanish varies across countries and communities. We explore music, traditions, customs, and idioms that bring the language to life and broaden students’ perspectives. I customize each session to the learner’s goals, whether they’re planning a trip, preparing for a test, or simply enjoying the challenge of learning something new.

I also make strategic use of technology—interactive platforms, flashcard apps, short videos, and listening activities all help reinforce skills in a fun and flexible way. Most importantly, I build a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to learn, laugh, and grow. I measure success not just by linguistic accuracy, but by how confidently a student can express themselves and how much they enjoy the process. Spanish should be more than a subject—it should be a door to deeper connection, and I’m here to help open it.
