About Dylan

I am an experienced Flute tutor with 20 years of teaching experience, teaching school students, college learners, and working professionals. Over the 20 years, I have worked with students from different age groups and helped them develop confidence and musical understanding.

My teaching philosophy is based on strong fundamentals and patient learning. I believe music should be taught in a calm and encouraging way. I take time to understand each student’s strengths and guide them at their own pace.

In my flute classes, I focus on breathing techniques, posture, tone development, finger coordination, rhythm, and musical expression. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills to build complete musicianship. For advanced students and professionals, I focus on refining technique and performance skills.

One of my notable achievements is helping students perform confidently in school events, college programs, and music examinations. Many students have shown steady progress and improved discipline through guided practice.

My goal is to help students enjoy learning flute, build confidence, and develop a lifelong connection with music.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is designed to make flute learning practical, enjoyable, and effective. I use real-life examples and case studies to connect lessons to real music experiences, helping students understand concepts clearly. I focus on understanding each student’s learning style, strengths, and progress, tailoring lessons to their individual needs. Communication is a core part of my teaching; I encourage students to ask questions, share ideas, and reflect on progress.

Integrity guides my approach—I provide honest feedback while motivating students to achieve their goals. Along with flute techniques, I also teach music theory, rhythm, and performance strategies to give students a strong musical foundation. This approach helps students grow technically, creatively, and confidently while enjoying the journey of music.
