About Isa

I teach flute with a blend of traditional technique and creative exploration, especially designed for adult learners over 20. In my experience, the most successful lessons are the ones that make room for curiosity, self-expression, and consistent but gentle growth. I use tried-and-true flute pedagogy, including breathwork, tone-building, articulation exercises, and scale study, but I always frame these in a context that feels relevant to you. I offer a choice-based curriculum that allows students to play music they love—from Bach to folk songs to film scores—while still building foundational skills. I also use learning aids such as customized recordings, video analysis, and interactive feedback to help you feel confident between lessons. Above all, I believe in music as a source of joy, not stress. Lessons with me are flexible, encouraging, and built around your life—not the other way around.

About the lesson

As a 21st-century flute tutor, I embrace both traditional musicianship and the power of technology to create a dynamic and engaging learning experience. My teaching is especially focused on adult learners aged 20 and above, a group I’ve come to admire for their determination, reflection, and love of learning. I use tools like practice apps, video demonstrations, and interactive sheet music to make at-home practice easy and effective. What sets me apart is my dual emphasis on heart and skill—every lesson is not only a chance to improve technique but also an invitation to explore the emotional voice of the flute. I encourage students to keep audio journals of their progress, explore tone colors, and use guided breathwork to control dynamics and phrasing. I teach in a warm, conversational style, helping students overcome self-doubt and celebrate every small success. Whether you want to learn classical works, folk tunes, or meditative improvisation, I’ll help you make music that feels personal and meaningful.
