About Martina

I am a flute tutor with 11 years of teaching experience and over 150 students guided on their musical journeys. I teach students of all levels, from beginners taking their first notes to advanced learners polishing their performance. My teaching approach combines structured technique with creativity, making each lesson enjoyable and productive.

I focus on breath control, tone, finger agility, and rhythm, while also encouraging improvisation and musical expression. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, helping them overcome challenges and build confidence.

Beyond individual skills, I integrate music theory, sight-reading, and ensemble experiences, giving students a well-rounded musical foundation. My aim is to inspire students to not only play the flute with skill but also connect emotionally with music, fostering a lifelong passion for the art.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching flute focuses on creating an adaptable, collaborative, and encouraging environment that inspires students to develop both technical skill and musical expression. By understanding each student’s learning style, I can tailor lessons to their needs, ensuring that concepts are grasped effectively and practice becomes enjoyable.

Flexibility is central to my methodology. I modify exercises, repertoire, and teaching techniques to suit the pace, interests, and goals of each learner. Collaboration plays a significant role — I engage students in ensemble activities, duets, and interactive exercises that foster musical sensitivity, confidence, and teamwork. Positivity is at the heart of my lessons; I celebrate progress, provide constructive guidance, and encourage students to view challenges as opportunities for growth.

In addition to flute performance, I incorporate subjects like music theory, ear training, rhythm exercises, and sight-reading to provide a complete musical foundation. My teaching methodology emphasises skill development, creativity, and musical understanding, helping students become confident, expressive, and passionate musicians with a lifelong love for the flute.
