About Paige

My name is Paige, and I’m a 20-year-old marketing and social media student at Curtin University. I grew up in Perth until the age of 9, then moved to Japan, where I lived there for a decade. During my time there, I attended school, graduated from high school, and studied translation at university. My experience living and studying in Japan has provided me with a deep understanding of both the language and culture.

I offer personalised Japanese lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around personalised learning, aiming to make each lesson engaging, interactive, and relevant to the student's goals. I blend structured lessons with real-world applications of the language, such as incorporating cultural nuances, conversational practice, and interactive tasks like role-playing to help students grasp the deeper aspects of Japanese communication.

Teaching Methodology:
I use a combination of communicative and task-based learning methods. Students are encouraged to actively use Japanese in real-life scenarios, rather than solely focusing on grammar or vocabulary. I also introduce multimedia resources, including videos, articles, and language apps, to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Each lesson builds on the previous one, ensuring consistent progress and reinforcement of what’s been learned.

Lesson Length:
Typical lessons run for 60 minutes, though I offer flexibility based on student preference and learning needs.

Qualifications/Experience:
Having lived in Japan for 10 years, I am fluent in Japanese and deeply familiar with the language's cultural context. I graduated with a degree in translation, further strengthening my linguistic skills. I have experience tutoring various levels of Japanese, from beginners to advanced learners, ensuring that each student’s pace and learning style are respected.
