About Carmen

I am a state‑certified English as a New Language teacher currently working in a public elementary school, and I bring that same dedication and expertise to my Italian tutoring. Italian is my second language, and over the years it has become a true passion—one that extends far beyond grammar and vocabulary. I love exploring every aspect of Italian culture, from its history and traditions to its music, food, and everyday expressions.

My goal as a tutor is to make Italian accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for learners of all ages. About the lesson

I design engaging, interactive lessons that blend speaking, listening, reading, and writing so learners build confidence in real‑world communication as well as academic proficiency. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, interests, and learning style, ensuring that each session feels purposeful and enjoyable.

A typical lesson begins with a warm‑up activity to activate prior knowledge and ease into Italian naturally. From there, we move into structured practice that may include guided conversation, listening tasks, reading passages, vocabulary development, or targeted grammar support. I always incorporate opportunities for authentic communication so students can apply what they learn immediately and meaningfully.

My approach works well for a wide range of learners—from adult beginners seeking conversational fluency to children discovering Italian as a second language.
