About Gillian

Bonjour! My name is Gillian, and I have been tutoring French for 8+ years. I graduated from Bates College as a double major in French and Francophone Studies & Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies.

I've spent years living abroad in francophone countries (Morocco, Luxembourg, and France itself). I've worked as a private tutor, a teaching assistant, and Fulbright Scholar – all with a focus on language learning. I love sharing my passion for the French language and helping my students reach their learning objectives in a way that's fun and effective!

About the lesson

My primary goal is to meet students where they are, in order to progress to where they'd like to be. No two lessons are identical, because each student has their own personality, preferences, learning style, and lesson goals.

I work with students of all levels and all ages, from elementary French through university-level literature analysis. I often work with students looking for homework help and test prep, but I am also here for any conversation practice or cultural activities!
