About Nuria

Born in Spain to a Spanish mother and British father, I attended Spanish public school for eight years before moving to the UK to complete primary school. At the age of 12, I relocated to Singapore, where I completed my GCSEs (including Spanish, French and Drama) and later my A Levels in Drama, Art, and French. I’ve always had a deep passion for languages and a drive to step outside my comfort zone to improve them. At 17, I spent several weeks in France on a language exchange, which led me to achieve my C1-level certificate in French. I’m also fluent in Spanish and Catalan, having grown up in Barcelona. Aside from languages, my passion for performing arts has been lifelong—I knew from day one that I wanted to be an actress! At 15, I began working as a children’s party entertainer at The Tiara Society Singapore, performing as Disney characters at events. Currently, I am studying for a BA in Drama and Acting. I’m creative, artistic, passionate about learning, and even more passionate about sharing knowledge through teaching.

About the lesson

As a multilingual individual with experience in the language at both GCSE and A Level, I tailor each lesson to suit the learner’s age, level, and goals. My approach is friendly, interactive, and focused on building both confidence and fluency. I use a mix of conversation practice, vocabulary-building games, grammar exercises, and listening activities. For younger children, I include songs, stories, and visuals to keep learning fun and engaging. For GCSE and A Level students, I focus on exam skills, past papers, writing structure, and oral preparation. I also draw from my own experience studying French at both GCSE and A Level, using the strategies that helped me succeed to support my students. Having personally completed the same courses, I understand the common challenges and can offer practical tips, tailored guidance, and relatable explanations to help learners feel confident and well-prepared. Lessons typically last one hour, but I’m flexible depending on your needs. I have experience teaching complete beginners through to advanced learners, and I work especially well with children thanks to my background in performance and childcare. Whether you're looking to boost your grades, start from scratch, or improve fluency, I’ll create a supportive, encouraging learning environment tailored to you.
