About Amy
Hi! I’m Amy Cyriac and I’m a first year medical student at the University of Manchester. I have had a lot of experience teaching students from all different backgrounds by working at Kumon for the last 5years. I love engaging with new people and helping them achieve their highest potential. I love teaching biology because it’s a subject I find very fascinating and am continually broadening my knowledge in every day. I believe that I’m very approachable and patient so students can feel comfortable around me and engage efficiently by asking any questions they want.

I follow the specification and underpin all the key content first. Then I like to layer on extra information and examples to give a bigger picture of the importance of the topic in hand. I believe consolidation is essential and I like tailoring to each student’s own preferences, whether that be through mind maps, flashcards or quizzes. This makes it more interactive and engaging to ensure the information sticks. Finally, practising exam style questions are vital for understanding how application of knowledge and time management work together.
