About Serena

I am an engaging tutor who knows exactly what it feels like to be stuck at a certain grade. Having navigated those same challenges to achieve a 1st Class degree and then the top performance in my cohort, I understand the specific barriers that hold students back and how to break through that ceiling.

As an incoming Deloitte analyst, I bring a structured methodology to our lessons and a clear system for tracking your progress. For university students, I am also happy to offer advice on job applications and navigating the corporate recruitment process.

Outside of tutoring, I am an outgoing and confident individual who loves swimming and learning new skills.

About the lesson

I help students who feel stuck with essay structure or find it difficult to translate their thoughts into high-scoring academic writing. Whether you’re aiming for a Grade 7/8/9 at GCSE or you’re a university student tired of getting 60% and wanting to consistently break the 70% barrier, I can show you how to refine your analysis and sharpen your arguments.

My approach is focused on making the "hidden" requirements of top-tier writing clear and repeatable. I provide immediate, actionable strategies that improve your marks the moment you implement them.

I provide context and lines of argument that aren't commonly taught in classrooms, giving your essays an edge in originality.

We move beyond basic templates to build custom essay structures that allow your arguments to flow naturally, I will analyse your essays with you and showcase pitfalls.

The 70+ Transition: For university students, I focus on critical discourse and moving from "describing" to "arguing" to hit First-Class marks.

I received 78% in my dissertation and all my essay assignments in final year achieved 70+. I graduated with a first class and understand what it takes to transition to 60% to 70% consistently.

I have previously tutored GCSE students 1-to-1 and successfully helped them achieve a Grade 9 in English Literature.
