About Miles

I’m Miles, 25, first-class Philosophy graduate and an international ski instructor. I also previously worked as an English Editor; thus, combined with my degree, my reading, writing and editing skills are strong—and I’d love to help other people improve theirs! When I instructed in Canada, Switzerland and Japan, I taught people of all ages and abilities. My first season in Canada was when I really fell in love with teaching—watching people grow in confidence and ability was very rewarding and I knew that teaching or tutoring of any kind was what I wanted my life to look like. Whilst we may not be doing ski lessons (bit tough over video), I want the learning process to be exciting and engaging. This means I always incorporate your interests—whether that’s sports, pop culture, or music—into the lesson to help you stay engaged, and fall in love with the learning process. “Knowledge is power,” as Socrates once said, so let me help you to grow as an individual by learning to love learning.

About the lesson

As a Philosophy graduate, I have a deep love of anything philosophy, psychology and English literature. I previously worked as an English Editor for a scientific research journal, so I can help to proofread and edit essays, helping you to develop a strong understanding of grammar structure, spelling and punctuation if needed. I have travelled the world for the past 3 years and taught ski instructing to people of all ages, so I love meeting new people, helping them discover their passion and grow in confidence. Whilst I’m no longer on the slopes, I think learning and exploring can still be an adventure. Therefore, I will take the time to help incorporate your interests and passions into the lesson to keep the learning process fun and engaging.
