About Tilly
I am an experienced one-on-one German tutor with a first-class degree in German and Arabic. That combined means that I am an expert at unpicking complex grammar in a way that makes sense.
I have won an award for my research into German to English translation, worked at a highly regarded international translation firm, and lived in England, Germany and Egypt.
Above all, I love to speak new languages, and I want to help other people to love it too.

I offer 50 minute tutoring sessions with a focus on speaking and listening.
Through using the language as much as possible, you can train your ear and start to recognise how the structure of the language comes together.
This means that when it comes to learning grammar it already feels familiar. You are not only memorising rules but understanding them: how and why they create meaning.
I also believe that confidence is an absolute game changer for learning a language. You are probably already better than you think.
Becoming proficient in a second language - particularly German - takes a lot of work. It will also change your life - expand your horizon and place new opportunities within your reach.
