About Layla

I struggled myself at school and it wasn't until my GCSEs that I began to study and revise. I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed with workload and the amount of content given. That is why I would like to help fellow students (using what I have learnt over the years) to make this process easier. I was the first year that took the new 9-1 grading system for GCSE English and Maths, so I have my own experience with the new curriculum. I went on to continue studying English during my A-levels and fell in love with the subject even more. I took my passion for Literature to an undergraduate level and it opened my eyes to the greatness and ongoing relevance of the subject, which I feel can be neglected within schools.

About the lesson

I feel the best way to help a fellow student is to adjust to their needs. I find that essay practicing and exploration of novels and poetry are the best way to help a student improve their essays. Lessons are typically at least an hour long but I am more than happy to do two hour sessions if that is more preferable. I am a first time tutor but I know what it is like to struggle with academic work and therefore have first hand experience on how to improve academic work and actually make it enjoyable! Which I feel is vital in the education process. I can teach GCSE students for their Literature and Language papers.
