As a highly qualified tutor with a passion for education, I am committed to helping students achieve their academic goals. With a degree in finance from Grand Canyon University and a background in math and science, I have the knowledge and expertise to provide personalized tutoring services. As an experienced and dedicated tutor, I am confident that I can help students gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I take a student-centered approach, tailoring my teaching methods and techniques to suit each individual's learning style and needs. I like to start by assessing their current level of understanding and work with them to set achievable goals.

During a typical lesson, I break down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts, and use real-life examples to help students connect the material to their own experiences. I also encourage active participation and ask open-ended questions to promote critical thinking.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to empathize with students who have different learning needs, such as those with IEPs. Having gone through the same experience myself, I understand the importance of adapting to their individual needs and creating a supportive environment for them to learn.

My lessons are open to students of all levels, from middle school to college, who require assistance with math and science subjects. I am happy to work with students from different backgrounds and with varying degrees of proficiency, and provide customized lessons to help them achieve their goals.

Perfect! Shane was great! He was able to work with my son in a way that did not overwhelm him and allowed him to overcome some challenges with calculus concepts. My son has often been misunderstood for his nero-divergent thought processes and is hesitant to trust new people. Shane was able to quickly get him to open up! My son left the session upbeat with a renewed optimism for his class.
