About Anna

German is my mother tongue – and I've been teaching it for over ten years. I work as a tutor and learning coach with adults, teenagers and children who don't want to just "practise a bit", but genuinely want to move forward.

Over those years I've worked with very different people: in institutions and independently, one-to-one and in groups, online and in person, from complete beginners to advanced learners polishing the finer details. My approach goes beyond classic tutoring: I don't just teach a language, I guide your learning – personally, with high standards, and aimed at results that last.

I grew up bilingual in Munich, with German and English. I also speak Spanish, French and Danish fluently, and I have a working knowledge of Catalan. I've lived in Germany, Denmark, France and Spain, and those years gave me a fine sense of how differently people communicate, learn, and find their footing in a new language.
Because I've learned several languages myself and used them in real life, I know the usual sticking points from the inside: pronunciation, interference between two languages, the moment a word vanishes mid-sentence, the fear of getting it wrong, the grammatical subtleties that never quite settle. That's why I can usually spot quite quickly where your real hurdle is. And when it helps, I'll compare structures with English, Spanish, French or Danish – so typical mistakes don't take root in the first place, and some explanations suddenly click.

About the lesson

You bring the goal – I build the route.

In our first lesson, we take a proper look at where you are and what you actually need. Out of that comes a clear plan: milestones, defined priorities and a thread that runs through every session. No arbitrary topics, no lessons left to chance.

And we check regularly whether it's working. At our check-ins we look at your progress together: What's running by itself now? Where are you still stuck? What do we change? You always know where you stand – and you can see, in black and white, what has shifted.

We work with material that genuinely interests you: real texts, current news, topics from your job, your daily life, your world – all pitched at your level. I explain grammar so you understand it rather than memorise it, and when it comes to speaking, I get you out of your head and into the language.

Preparing for something specific? A language certificate, a job interview, university, or the German naturalisation test? Then we work towards it deliberately – with a realistic timeline and no panic in the final week.

As a learning coach, I also show you **how** you learn. We work out which methods actually click for you, why certain mistakes keep coming back, and what you can do between lessons so your German keeps growing even when I'm not there.
