After agreeing on a goal or target for the student, my sessions will be led by the individual to a large extent in order to enhance focus on areas where the student feels they need more help. However, I will also regularly ask for a short practice question to be completed during the week with a view to reviewing it in the session to see where it could be improved. By doing this after a couple of weeks these changes should become second nature as well as highlighting the inevitable repetitive nature of exam questions.
I understand that each student learns in a different way and sometimes it is necessary to try out different learning techniques before discovering what works for an individual in order to make the sessions as useful as they can be! I am also open to other suggestions if a student has a particular strategy which they know works for them.
