About Cailiosa
Hey Students,
My name is Cailíosa, however everyone calls me Cal. I am a final year student doctor in Queen's University Belfast and have been helping students achieve their full potential for over 4 years. I love to tutor as I like to make lessons enjoyable for students and it's a great way for you as the student to feel at ease in the lessons. I also like to give tips and tricks when it comes to exam papers and revision of things I wish I knew at your age! I look forward to meeting you and to help you achieve your academic goals.

As a tutor with over 4 years experience, I have found a structured approach to my lessons and they typically go as follows for one hour lessons;
1.Approximately the first 10 minutes are spent correcting homework I have set and going through corrections so that the pupil understands where they have gone wrong and tips on how to avoid this in the future.
2. The next 25-30 minutes consists of the main bulk of the lesson where I will explain a topic e.g. surds, do examples where the pupil simply watches me explain the answer. Then myself and the pupil does questions together so that I can gage the pupils understanding of my teaching.
3. The next 10 minutes, the pupil does questions on their own. This is a great time to see if the pupil fully comprehends the subject
4. the next 5 minutes the pupil explains how to answer a question to me, as though I was the pupil. I believe this is on eof the best methods to understand as a tutor, if I have successfully helped the student understand the topic.
5. The last 5 minutes involve a quick summary of what we did and setting the homework.
This is a structure I like to use with my lessons.
