About Joseph

In 2019 I tutored a Year 11 student in the spring before their GCSE Maths exams. In December their projected grade was a 3 however they persevered and with my help achieved a grade 5 in the subject, for which I was very proud.

Last year I taught a Year 8 student who was struggling in their maths class. I found this experience very useful in learning new methods to tutor students of differing abilities.

This year, I helped two Year 13 students prepare for their A Level Economics final assessments. Their feedback was very positive and they appeared much more confident in their ability at the end.

Overall, I believe I am an excellent maths and economics tutor through my strong ability to communicate concepts and target learning, and my results reflect this!

About the lesson

Hello, my name is Joseph and I study BSc Economics at the London School of Economics. I have a wealth of experience teaching mathematics to students of varying abilities, whether they are in Year 7 or preparing for A Level final examinations.

At the start of a typical lesson I would devote time to ensuring the student has a sound understanding of today's topic. Next, through my experience I have found it very effective to introduce exam style questions to reinforce their understanding of mathematical concepts. Of course, every student's ability, goals and learning style is different and I am adept at adjusting tuition accordingly.

Recently, I have started teaching economics, and I have just helped two students revise for their A Level Economics assessments.

I passionately believe my teaching method can help any student reach their full potential.
