About Zu

I am a final year Civil Engineering Honors student based in Melbourne, Australia, with real industry experience across geotechnical field work, property and infrastructure at Colliers International, and a WSUD regulatory project with SMEC. I am currently completing a Road Safety Research Thesis with a local City Council.

So when you bring me an assignment about soil reports, structural, concrete, steel or drainage design, stormwater management, traffic impact assessments, or environmental engineering...anything that makes you go GRRRR...I have actually done versions of this stuff in the real world! :D

I am also bilingual in English and Mandarin. If it helps you think more clearly in Mandarin, we can run the whole session that way.

Okay real talk guys! A lot of civil engineering students struggle with reading an assignment brief five times and still not knowing what it is asking or where to even start. That is exactly what I am here to help with.

Before our session, send me your assignment brief, marking rubric, and any relevant course materials. I go through everything beforehand so when we get on the call, we jump straight into it rather than spending the first twenty minutes just figuring out the question together. By the end of the session you will have a clear, well-structured outline for a draft, a solid understanding of what the assignment is asking, and a step-by-step plan for how to approach it. Then I stay with you through the whole thing.

I am not a math tutor and I will not sit there deriving equations at you for two hours. What I am good at is helping you think through problems practically, break down confusing questions, figure out the right approach, and get your ideas onto paper in a way that actually makes sense. A lot of that comes from having done real industry work, not just studied it.

My sessions are online via Zoom and I am flexible with time zones, so it does not matter where in the world you are studying.
First 30 minutes are completely free. No obligation, no pressure. Just send me your assignment brief and marking rubric when you reach out and I will have a look before we chat.
Rate is $30 AUD per hour after the trial session.
