About Jennifer

Hi! I’m Jennifer, a New York-based actor and acting coach with a deep passion for helping performers feel confident, grounded, and fully present on camera.

My work is rooted in professional training at The Barrow Group and the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, where I developed a strong foundation in natural, emotionally truthful performances combined with a clear, repeatable technique. I love helping actors discover what makes their performances uniquely compelling.

Alongside my own film, television, and commercial experience, I regularly collaborate with actors as a scene partner, reader, and self-tape coach. This has given me a sharp eye for what works on camera, from subtle emotional shifts to technical details like eye-lines, pacing, and framing that elevate a performance instantly.

Students often tell me they feel supported, challenged, and more confident after working together. My coaching style is direct but encouraging, focused on helping you make strong, specific choices while still feeling relaxed and natural.

About the lesson

I teach acting with a strong focus on truthful, emotionally grounded performances that translate naturally on camera. My approach blends the naturalism of The Barrow Group with the powerful emotional technique of Ivana Chubbuck’s 12-step work, helping actors feel both authentic and confident in their choices.

My sessions are practical, collaborative, and tailored to your goals. We don’t just “run lines”, we break down scripts, clarify objectives, and make specific adjustments that immediately improve your performance. I prioritize helping actors feel relaxed and present, especially in close-ups and self-tapes where subtle, honest work matters most.

A typical lesson may include:
Script and character analysis to understand emotional stakes and objectives
On-camera technique, eyelines, framing, and audition preparation
Scene work focused on truthful reactions and strong playable actions
Self-tape coaching with real-time adjustments and feedback

What sets me apart is my ability to combine emotional depth with technical precision. Many actors struggle to translate strong stage instincts into natural on-camera work and I specialize in helping you find that balance so your performances feel effortless rather than forced.
