About Maila
I am an international student studying a diploma course in leadership and management in Brisbane. I have been giving tutorials informally to my niece and to my classmates way back in primary and secondary schools. Through my patience, my niece is able to understand her subjects and be able to pass her exams in her primary school back in our home country. My classmates were also having a hard time understanding mathematics back then, and after teaching them during break time, after school and while the teacher is away, they were able to pass the subject as well and gain their high school diploma.

My teaching method varies as it depends on the people I tutor. I first adapt the old school style wherein I check what are their subjects lessons that they've discussed already and ask the student what are the items that he/she finds confusing or needs further understanding. I also do sample or mock tests to check if they fully understand the topics. Once they are caught up with the lessons and can understand their previous topics, I can then move on and suggest that they do either advance reading of the next topics or lessons or read other references to have deeper knowledge of the topic. I try to be creative and gives reward if it's the best motivator for the student.
