  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in my chosen field during my academic journey. As I explored different subjects and disciplines, I found myself drawn to the challenges and complexities within my field. I was particularly captivated by the practical applications and the potential to make a positive impact through teaching. Over time, my interest deepened as I engaged with research, collaborated with colleagues, and saw the transformative effects of education on students. This journey sparked a passion within me to pursue teaching and support neurodivergent students, combining my academic interests with a desire to empower others through education.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

As an educator, I am passionate about my subject because I find it fascinating and intellectually stimulating. I enjoy delving deep into the intricacies of my field, uncovering new insights, and sharing my knowledge with others. For me, this passion stems from the practical applications of my subject and the opportunity to make a real-world impact through teaching and research. Additionally, seeing my students engage with and develop an interest in the subject further fuels my passion and sense of fulfillment. Ultimately, I am driven by the desire to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning among my students.

My passion for teaching neurodivergent students online stems from a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and personalized learning. I believe in the transformative power of education to empower every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their cognitive or neurological differences.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to help others succeed and achieve their academic goals. It's incredibly rewarding to see students improve their understanding of a subject, gain confidence in their abilities, and excel in their studies.

As a "Superprof," I strive to provide personalized and effective teaching methods tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. I am patient, empathetic, and dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their challenges. I believe in encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to empower students beyond just memorizing facts.

Additionally, I continuously seek to improve my teaching strategies and stay updated on the latest educational trends and resources to ensure that my students receive the best possible support. Overall, my passion for teaching, commitment to student success, and continuous pursuit of excellence are what make me a "Superprof."
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Yes, I had a wonderful role model and inspiration in my grade 6 teacher, Mrs. Sarda. She was truly remarkable, with a deep passion for teaching and a genuine care for her students' well-being. Mrs. Sarda created a supportive and engaging classroom environment where every student felt valued and encouraged to succeed.

What I admired most about Mrs. Sarda was dedicated to understanding each student's unique learning style and needs. Mrs. Sarda's patience, empathy, and unwavering belief in her students' potential left a lasting impression on me.

Under Mrs. Sarda's guidance, I not only excelled academically in Geography and English but also gained confidence in my abilities. Her enthusiasm for education and her compassionate approach continue to inspire me in my own teaching journey, especially as I work with neurodivergent students online. Mrs. Sarda's legacy lives on in the way I approach teaching and the impact I strive to make on my students' lives.
  • What are your keys to success?

My keys to success in teaching neurodivergent students online involve several important principles and practices:

Empathy and Understanding: I prioritize empathy and understanding when working with neurodivergent students. Recognizing and respecting their unique needs, learning styles, and challenges is crucial to building a supportive and effective learning environment.

Adaptability and Flexibility: I emphasize adaptability and flexibility in my teaching approach. Neurodivergent students may require different instructional strategies, accommodations, or modifications to thrive. Being flexible allows me to tailor my methods to meet their individual needs.

Clear Communication: Clear and concise communication is essential. I strive to communicate instructions, expectations, and feedback in a way that is easily understood by my students. Visual aids, clear language, and supportive cues can enhance communication effectiveness.

Patience and Support: Patience is key when working with neurodivergent students. I provide ample time for processing information, encourage persistence, and offer ongoing support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Strength-Based Approach: I focus on identifying and leveraging students' strengths and interests. By incorporating their strengths into the learning process, I empower students to build confidence and make meaningful progress.

Collaboration and Partnership: I value collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the student's education. Collaborative partnerships ensure continuity of support and promote holistic development.

Continuous Learning and Improvement: I am committed to continuous learning and professional development. Staying informed about best practices in neurodiversity education and implementing evidence-based strategies enables me to enhance my effectiveness as a teacher.

By incorporating these principles into my teaching practice, I aim to create a positive and inclusive learning experience for my neurodivergent students and foster their academic, social, and emotional growth.
