About Uma
I am a guitar teacher with nine years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar. My background shaped a deep respect for both technique and expression. Music has always been a storytelling medium for me. I enjoy helping students discover how guitar can support songwriting and creative expression. Lessons often explore cinematic soundscapes and poetic accompaniment. I guide students in using harmony and melody to communicate emotion. Technical skills are always connected to musical meaning. I believe every student has a unique musical story. My role is to help them tell it clearly. I work comfortably with beginners and advanced players alike. Each level offers meaningful creative opportunities. I focus on patience, encouragement, and clarity. Students are never rushed. I adapt explanations to individual learning styles. Some students learn best through imagery, others through structure. I respect both approaches. Lessons are welcoming and inspiring. I value curiosity and experimentation. Mistakes are part of growth. Over time, students gain confidence and expressive control. Guitar becomes a trusted creative tool. Beyond teaching, I remain connected to music through personal practice and creative exploration. This keeps my teaching grounded and relevant. I enjoy supporting learners as they grow musically and personally. Teaching guitar is fulfilling because I witness confidence develop naturally. I value honesty, expression, and dedication. My goal is to help students feel connected to their instrument. Music becomes a personal language. Six strings can carry powerful stories. I am honored to help students discover theirs.

My guitar lessons are designed to feel engaging, expressive, and encouraging from the very first session. I use storytelling, humor, and real-world music references to create a relaxed learning environment. Students explore bending and vibrato techniques as tools for emotional expression, not just mechanics. Solo phrasing is taught through musical storytelling, helping learners understand how notes communicate feeling. Tone shaping is approached with curiosity, allowing students to discover their own sound. Lessons balance technical depth with creative freedom. I support learners who need reassurance as well as those seeking structured challenges. Progress is guided gently but consistently. Students are encouraged to experiment without fear of mistakes. Musical confidence grows naturally through supportive feedback. Each lesson connects technique to expression. Guitar becomes a voice rather than a task.
I adapt my lessons carefully to meet individual needs. Some learners need emotional encouragement, while others need technical clarity. I provide both. Exercises are framed musically so practice feels purposeful. Students learn how posture, touch, and timing affect tone. Stage confidence is built gradually through guided performance moments. I introduce challenges when students are ready, not before. Learners feel supported through moments of doubt. Humor and storytelling help reduce tension. Music becomes enjoyable rather than stressful. Over time, students notice greater control and expression. Guitar playing starts to feel natural and confident.
My lessons focus on long-term musical growth rather than quick tricks. I emphasize understanding why techniques work. Students learn how to listen critically to their own playing. This awareness strengthens independence. Practice becomes more focused and rewarding. I guide students in shaping musical identity, not copying styles blindly. Each learner’s voice is respected. Lessons encourage curiosity and exploration. Confidence develops steadily through understanding and expression. Guitar becomes a creative companion. My goal is to help learners feel expressive, capable, and proud of their musical journey.
