About Simon

I have more than 13 years of experience teaching Guitar to college students, and I focus on combining supportive guidance with innovative methods. My lessons are designed to help students learn efficiently, enjoyably, and creatively.

I incorporate hands-on practice, improvisation, play-along tracks, and recording exercises to make learning interactive. Music theory is taught in a simple way, allowing students to apply it directly to their playing. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s interests and goals, whether it’s mastering chords, learning new songs, or composing music.

I aim to build confidence, creativity, and skill. Over the past 13 years, I’ve seen students progress rapidly, perform confidently, and develop their own style. My approach ensures that every lesson is productive, inspiring, and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I teach guitar with a focus on creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. My lessons are designed to help students explore music in their own way, experiment with styles, and develop their unique sound. I encourage students to write songs, improvise, and play pieces that inspire them, making learning both enjoyable and meaningful.

Mentorship is at the heart of my approach. I provide guidance, constructive feedback, and encouragement to help students overcome challenges and build confidence. Critical thinking is woven into every lesson—I teach students to understand music theory practically, analyse songs, and solve problems creatively.

Accountability ensures progress. Together, we set clear goals, track improvements, and celebrate achievements to keep students motivated. Lessons are interactive, combining practice, exercises, and creative projects tailored to the student’s interests.

In addition to guitar, I teach music theory, improvisation, and composition. My aim is to develop not just skilled guitarists, but confident, creative, and independent musicians who enjoy learning and expressing themselves through music.
