About Joel

I am a violin tutor with over 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, focusing on Contemporary Repertoire. My classical training provides a strong foundation that I use to help students explore modern expression on the violin. I specialise in preparing students for orchestral excerpts and ensemble playing, ensuring they are confident in group settings. My lessons focus on essential skills such as bowing technique, vibrato, phrasing, and interpretation. I guide students through a variety of styles, including Classical, Contemporary, and Cinematic music. This broad approach helps learners develop versatility and a deeper musical understanding. I have experience coaching students for ABRSM and Trinity exams, as well as working closely with orchestral groups. This background allows me to tailor lessons to both individual progress and ensemble needs. I invite students to join me in combining the rich traditions of classical violin with creative, modern musical ideas. About the lesson

I’m very good with adult learners building confidence and content creators wanting to express themselves through music. Together, we work on shaping your personal style and storytelling through the violin. I provide clear guidance while encouraging freedom to experiment and innovate. You’ll learn techniques that support both traditional playing and creative exploration. My goal is to help you express your musical ideas fully and confidently. With consistent feedback and tailored exercises, you’ll grow as a composer and performer. Let’s compose your own violin story and bring your unique sound to life.
