About Julie

As a dedicated and highly qualified educator, I am committed to helping every student reach their full academic potential. I believe that confidence is the foundation of success in mathematics, and my role as a tutor is not only to teach content, but to build strong understanding, independence, and self-belief.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Science for Primary Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Mathematics. My academic background, combined with practical classroom experience, allows me to support students at different levels and adapt instruction to their individual needs.

My goal is simple: to help students move from uncertainty to confidence, from memorizing to truly understanding, and from hesitation to independent problem-solving.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring
I believe every child can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance, structure, and encouragement. My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and highly structured to build both understanding and confidence.

My Teaching Techniques & Methodology
I use:
Step-by-step explanations to simplify complex concepts
Visual models and real-life examples to make math meaningful
Guided practice followed by independent practice to ensure mastery
Differentiated instruction to meet each student’s learning needs
Confidence-building strategies especially for students who feel anxious about math
With my background in special education, I adapt lessons for different learning styles and provide targeted support when needed.

Typical Lesson Structure & Length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include:
Quick review of previous learning
Clear explanation of the new concept
Guided practice together
Independent practice with feedback
Summary and mini-assessment

Longer sessions (90 minutes) are available for exam preparation or intensive support.

My Qualifications & Experience
I hold:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Science for Primary Education
A Master’s degree in Special Education (Mathematics focus)

I have extensive experience teaching primary students and supporting learners with different academic levels, including those who need additional structure and reinforcement.
