About Finley

With 15+ years of tutoring experience, I teach Piano to school students, college students, and working professionals. I am passionate about making piano learning simple, enjoyable, and meaningful. My goal is to help every student develop confidence, musical skills, and a lasting interest in the instrument.

My teaching philosophy is based on understanding each student as an individual. I first learn about their current piano level, goals, interests, learning style, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I then adapt my lessons to suit their pace and requirements.

I teach piano fundamentals, finger technique, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance preparation. I use simple explanations, demonstrations, practical exercises, and real musical examples to make concepts easy to understand.

I believe communication is an important part of effective teaching. I encourage students to ask questions and share their difficulties openly. When a student finds something challenging, I break the topic into smaller steps and provide additional practice until they feel confident.

I also focus on practice habits and time management. I teach students how to organize their practice, set achievable goals, work on difficult sections, and monitor their improvement.

A notable achievement in my teaching journey is gaining 9 years of experience working with students from different age groups, backgrounds, and skill levels. This has helped me develop flexibility, patience, and strong mentoring skills.

My aim is to help students become confident and independent piano players. Whether you want to learn piano for enjoyment, improve your technique, prepare for a performance, or develop deeper musical knowledge, I provide personalized lessons and continuous support.

About the lesson

My piano teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe music education should develop technical skills while giving students opportunities to express their creativity.

I begin by understanding the student's piano level, musical interests, learning preferences, and goals. I then create lessons that combine essential techniques with enjoyable songs and practical activities.

My lessons cover posture, hand position, finger coordination, note reading, rhythm, scales, chords, sight-reading, ear training, and musical expression. I also teach music theory through practical piano exercises so students can understand how music works.

I use demonstrations, listening, written exercises, repetition, and hands-on activities to support different learning styles. When a student finds a topic difficult, I change the method and provide a simpler explanation.

Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons according to individual progress. Collaboration gives students the opportunity to share ideas, select music, discuss challenges, and set personal goals.

I create a positive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting and learning from mistakes. I provide encouraging feedback and help them build confidence through regular progress.

Along with piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to develop skilled and confident musicians who enjoy expressing themselves through piano.
