About Tina

Hello! I am Tina. I hold an NCE and 9 years of specialized experience in Montessori classrooms and private tutoring. I specialize in transforming literacy skills for children (ages 4–11), turning struggling readers into confident, high-achieving students.

My Specialized Focus Areas:

Early Years (Ages 3–5):
I use Jolly Phonics and Montessori techniques to master letter sounds and blending. We build the "reading spark" early.

Key Stage 1 (Ages 5–7):
Focused preparation for the National Phonics Screening Check. I aim for the 32/40 threshold by ensuring students can decode both familiar and "alien" words with ease.

Key Stage 2 & 11+ (Ages 7–11):
Expert support for SATs and Entrance Exams. I focus on Reading Comprehension, Grammar (SPaG), and Diction to ensure your child is Secondary School Ready.

Support for Every Learner:
I have professional training in supporting children who struggle with learning pace. My approach is patient, multisensory, and results-driven.

(Note: I focus exclusively on English/Literacy and do not offer Math tutoring at this time to ensure the highest quality of instruction.)

About the lesson

My lessons are built on the Montessori principle of Learning by Doing. For younger learners, I use Phonics based storytelling and multisensory tools to make reading feel like an adventure. For my older students (up to age 11), focus on:

. Active Literacy: Improving diction through structured speaking and reading aloud.

. Confidence Building: Specialized support for slow learners to help them find their voice.

. Visible Progress: Constant monitoring and feedback so parents can see the results in handwriting and fluency.

Every lesson is tailored to the child's unique pace, ensuring they don't just learn but truly excel.

Perfect! Teacher Tina's made spellings feel fun and very easy. I never get my spellings correctly especially with big words but are Montessori tricks made me understand the sounds instead of just memorizing them. She makes learning so much fun!
