About Grant
I hold an MMath degree and have been tutoring mathematics for over five years. My passion goes beyond equations and problem-solving — I’m deeply fascinated by the history of mathematics and how human thought has shaped it over centuries. I love exploring how ancient civilizations, from Babylon to India to Greece, laid the foundations for the concepts we use today. In my sessions, I weave in stories of great mathematicians and the origins of famous theorems. We talk about how geometry grew from practical land measurement, or how algebra evolved from trade and commerce. I believe these narratives help students see mathematics not as a cold, abstract subject, but as a living, evolving journey of human curiosity. By understanding the context behind discoveries, students develop a deeper respect for the subject. They see that every formula has a history and every method was born from a real-world challenge. I guide learners to appreciate the cultural and intellectual heritage behind the numbers and patterns they study. This approach not only strengthens their grasp of concepts but also inspires them to think critically and creatively. Mathematics becomes a bridge between the past and present — a shared human achievement that still shapes our future. My teaching approach in Math is nurturing, personalized, and designed to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I believe every student has a unique way of understanding concepts, so I adapt my lessons to suit individual needs. Alongside core topics, I integrate areas like logic puzzles, game theory, and recreational mathematics to spark curiosity and creative thinking. I often connect mathematical ideas to real-life scenarios so students can see their practical value. This helps them relate to the subject and remember it longer. We also explore playful challenges that build problem-solving skills and encourage outside-the-box thinking. Parents are important partners in this journey, and I provide them with regular updates and insights to support their child’s growth. I create a safe, encouraging space where questions are always welcome, and mistakes are seen as steps toward mastery. With this approach, students not only improve their grades but also develop a lasting appreciation for the fun and beauty of mathematics. Together, we celebrate progress, curiosity, and the joy of discovering something new. My aim is to see every learner gain confidence, apply math creatively, and excel in ways they never thought possible.
