About Lauren

Originally from Orange County, CA, I’ve always had a deep love for English—reading, writing, and exploring the beauty of language. I am a lover of Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë literature. During college, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at Oxford University in their English Literature and Humanities program, an experience that further fueled my passion for storytelling and critical analysis. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Anthropology from Texas Christian University, combining my interests in culture, society, and governance. After working in the digital advertising world, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s in Communication Management and Business Communication at the University of Southern California. I’m excited to continue sharing my passion for English with students of all ages. I love helping others improve their reading, writing, and grammar skills while building confidence and a deeper appreciation for literature.

About the lesson

I believe in a tailored teaching approach that adapts to the unique needs, age, and goals of each student. Whether you’re a young learner building foundational skills or a college student perfecting your essays, I create personalized lesson plans to ensure you succeed. Teaching Method and Techniques I focus on fostering understanding and confidence through clear explanations, interactive activities, and practical examples. Lessons emphasize active engagement, with time for questions, discussions, and hands-on practice. I incorporate tools like reading exercises, writing prompts, grammar drills, and literary analysis, all adjusted to the student's skill level. A Typical Lesson Plan Warm-Up: Review of previous lessons or skills, focusing on areas that need reinforcement. Core Lesson: Introduction of new concepts or topics tailored to the student’s current goals (e.g., grammar, essay structure, or literature analysis). Practice: Guided exercises to apply new skills, from analyzing texts to crafting essays. Wrap-Up: A summary of what was learned, with additional tips and homework (if applicable). What Sets Me Apart Diverse Educational Background: My studies at Texas Christian University, the University of Southern California, and Oxford University give me a strong foundation in English and communication. Adaptability: I cater to all ages and skill levels, making learning engaging and approachable for each individual. Passion for English: I bring enthusiasm to every lesson, inspiring students to connect with reading, writing, and literature. Who Are the Lessons For? Students of all ages, from elementary to adults. Individuals seeking to improve reading, writing, grammar, or literature skills. Those preparing for exams, essays, or improving general communication.
